Tuface’s gig for van der Linden

R & B artiste, Tuface Idibia, made a special appearance at the farewell party held recently in honour of Mr. Jacco van der Linden, the outgoing Marketing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc. Organised by the collaborating agencies comprising of Mediacraft Associates, Bates Cosse, EXP, Town Criers, Share Mind, Neo Media and Oracle, the Only Me singer acknowledged the good works of the outgoing Marketing Director, backing his encomiums with a medley of some of his hits.  However, it was a rendition of his classic hit, African Queen, which delighted the audience at the poolside of Oriental Hotel. The song was a special request from Gbenga Adeyinka, who anchored proceedings at the ceremony. Tuface was the headline act at the brewery’s Hat Trick launch last November. Past winner of Star Quest, The Diamondz Band, supported Tuface at the event. In his response,  Van der Linden thanked the eight agencies for honouring him. He said he would take the favourable memories of the country along with him, as he leaves.  “What is phenomenal is the human energy in Nigeria. It is so amazing. It is something that I will always remember about the country. I have come to discover that Nigerians are so energetic and always willing to learn. They always want to find a way in the face of seeming impossibilities. I always tell my wife that I am never tired whenever I am in Nigeria, because of the energy from the people.” He added that he would be glad to return to Nigeria if such opportunity arose in the future. “Given a second opportunity to come back here to Nigeria, I would gladly come back without any hesitations; where else can you find a rare breed of people like Nigerians? I am truly grateful for the experience that this country has given me. I truly would like to come back to Nigeria, but even if I don’t, I am grateful for the Nigerian experience.” he remarked. Jacco van der Linden will be moving to the United Kingdom as Heineken Marketing Director, UK.
